WANA (Feb 03) – The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that, for the first time, four naval ships from Iran’s IRGC and Army will travel to the UAE to meet with the Emirati Navy.

 

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, speaking to reporters, stated: “Four ships from the IRGC and Army Navy are heading to the UAE for a meeting with the Emirati Navy. This is happening for the first time, and we have repeatedly emphasized that regional countries can ensure the security of the region without the presence of foreign forces.”

 

Regarding joint military drills with other countries, he said: “Holding exercises with neighboring countries, including Iraq, is on our agenda. For example, we have cooperated with the Omani Navy and participated in joint drills with Oman.”

 

Tangsiri also stressed the importance of maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, saying: “We have ensured the security of the Strait of Hormuz for years, and significant measures have been taken in this regard.”

 

On the unveiling of a drone carrier warship, he added: “We have drone carrier warships and similar vessels capable of carrying helicopters and UAVs. By God’s will, a multipurpose drone carrier will soon be added to the IRGC Navy.”
